![]() 2-15-07Happy post-Single's Awareness Day! Yes, once again it's February 15, the day when all the unpurchased chocolates are on sale, lovers awaken exhausted from the previous night's activities, men breathe a sigh of relief that the size of the diamond offset the fact that they almost forgot, and friends and neighbors discover the dead bodies of single people who had their noses rubbed into the fact that they were completely alone. So my post-Single's Awareness Day gift to my readers is but a simple one: A new comic. Yay! A while back, I was treated to a chance to watch Adult Swim (I don't have cable at my crappy studio apartment) but was dismayed to see that they've let some of their programming slip into the bizarre (12 Oz. Mouse) and the just plain weird (PeeWee's Playhouse). I couldn't believe that a CHILDREN'S SHOW from when I was FIVE years old is being played on ADULT Swim. Not to mention the fact that... damn, that show was freakin' strange. I think Paul Ruebens was on crack when he thought that show up. Then again, looking at Paul Ruebens, I'm pretty sure he IS on crack. I digress. Anyway, this pretty much reflects my feelings on seeing a show I hadn't seen for Well over a decade. A show that has the power to make a person feel vastly uncomfortable for watching. But that aside, rejoice! A.R. has returned! -GL 2-13-2007Okay okay! It's been way longer than I promised for an update. And to you, my loyal readers, I apologize. Things got upside-down for me for a while, and I had to choose between getting things straightened out or drawing A.R. Obviously, I chose the former. After it was straightened out, I hit writer's block. I'm still adjusting to the characters and the comic, so I'm pretty sure I'm going to be more susceptible to that as a result.So. Onward and upward. There's a new comic that WAS due on this past Friday. But unfortunately, it won't be available until Thursday -though there's a slim chance for tomorrow. At any rate, the process goes like this. I get an idea. I refine it, then draw it. After that, I have to actually leave my apartment and go scan it, because I don't have a scanner at home. I load the scan on my flash drive, go home, and ink and color in Photoshop. THEN I load the final image back onto my flash drive, and take it to work, where I then upload it. (I don't have internet hookup available in my apartment. Sad, I know) All that makes it a little more tricky to get updates on time. Plus, the running around makes it a bit difficult to get psyched into a comic, since it's a lengthy process. Anyway, I thought I'd give an insight as to why I'm not as readily able to update as I'd like to be. Hopefully that will change soon, though. At any rate, there WILL be a new comic this week. No later than Thursday. I promise. Really. Peace, -GL
